Therapy for Anxiety:
Reconnect With Your True Self
California psychologist helping adults & teens manage anxiety, navigate their relationships, and live a life of meaning through therapy
In our world of “work hard first, take care of yourself later,”
we often find ourselves imagining life in the future, getting pulled into the virtual world, or reliving past events,
all of which distract us from awareness of our present… and yet, everything we do happens in the here and now.
Sometimes this fast-paced world can make us feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and like we just aren’t good enough. I believe you are worthy of slowing down and sharing your life experiences, exploring your thoughts, getting familiar with your feelings, and examining your actions and interactions with others, as a means of (re)connecting with yourself and others. You deserve to take time to explore the values that matter most to you.
My goal is to support, encourage, and challenge you to live the life you want to lead and improve your relationships with others, starting with yourself. I never judge my clients, but instead seek to understand them from a place of acceptance. Working with clients from a variety of ages and cultural backgrounds has made me the therapist I am today.
I specialize in working with adults as they navigate anxiety, perfectionism, self-worth, relationship and communication issues, grief and loss, depression, and transitions during various life stages.
Often referred to as Dr. Allie. (My last name is pronounced like “mines”.)
I’m a Licensed Psychologist with a virtual private practice, based in Roseville, CA. The benefits of a virtual practice are that I can work with you so long as you are located within the California state border.
I specialize in working with adults as they navigate anxiety, perfectionism, self-worth, relationship and communication issues, grief and loss, depression, and transitions during various life stages.
I’m a proud first generation college graduate with a down to earth approach to connecting with others. My approach is collaborative, inclusive, and playful. A great day of therapy to me is one that is filled with laughter, crying, anger, and smiles. Life is a roller-coaster and I’m here for the wild, sometimes messy, ride.
Welcome! My name is Dr. Allison Meins

My Approach
I’ll meet you where you are and walk alongside you until you get to where you’re going.
Perhaps you’ve noticed feeling exhausted, on edge, or had difficulties concentrating and want to understand why,
Maybe you are ready to explore your wants, needs, passions, and opinions that are separate from those who raise(d) you,
Maybe you’re making sense of this ‘adulting’ business,
Or you might be going through a challenging change (loss of a loved one, divorce, job change, retirement, change as we age)...
If you are seeking support with the many questions and decisions that accompany these periods of growth, I’m here to sit with you, support you, and guide you as you wrestle with making sense of it all.
We will set goals together that reflect your personal experiences and interests. We’ll explore the interaction between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so as to identify where to try something new and create your desired outcomes. We’ll also explore your unique experiences from your family, cultural, and chronological backgrounds. We will explore who you are today, how you got here, and where you are going, while making space for acceptance as change occurs. By exploring your values and taking time to build on your strengths, my hope is that you can reclaim your motivation and lead a life of meaning and fulfillment.
Self-love, acceptance, understanding, and growth can begin (or continue) in this warm and inviting space, free of cultural and societal expectation. With me, you can show up just as you are.
I can’t wait to meet you!
Are you ready to join me for a journey of personal growth and wellbeing?
